This project aimed to address the issue of unregistered food businesses that jeopardize food safety and public health. An online audit revealed many such businesses offering high risk foods for sale. The project involved documenting the current/future states of the registration process, reviewing customer feedback, collaborating with teams across council and exploring technology solutions, such as the use of AI and website scraping. The outcomes included simplifying website information, engaging with community leaders and culturally diverse groups and enhanced data gathering to continually improve the process.
