Description
Following excessive rainfall due to La Nina weather pattern in the Eastern states in 2022, this water entered the Murray Darling basin, and the State Government declared a Major Emergency for the SA River Murray Floods in November 2022. This flood impacted 5 Regional Councils, over 4000 properties were inundated, access across the River restricted, and countless roads damaged. In some Council's, EHOs were an important part of the response and recovery for their regions, yet in others, they were only used as necessary. This presentation outlines the different experiences of two Regional EHOs from Councils that were impacted.
