The Health Sector Adaptation Plan (HSAP), under development by the WA Department of Health, aims to prepare the health sector for the impacts of climate change. Climate and environmental health (EH) intersect at many levels, informing not only the HSAP, but also adaptation across all sectors. The WHO’s framework for building climate resilient health systems provided a scaffold to align the HSAP with National and State climate and health priorities. To ensure a fit for purpose HSAP, it is underpinned by robust consultation with EH and climate experts, health researchers, vulnerable groups and healthcare and health service providers.
