Description

There is dire need to study simian malaria vectors’ abundance, diversity, competence and bionomics. This study is being conducted in KhoChang. Entomological surveys and laboratory experiments are being conducted (August 2023 to October 2025.) Entomological surveys of 4 nights each are being conducted every 4 months. Mosquitoes are being collected using Human Indoor Landing and Outdoor Landing Collection plus Baited Monkey Traps. Mosquitoes are being identified using morphological keys and molecular PCR. Plasmodium is being investigated by PCR. 3 factors are being considered (season, collection times and collection methods) 3-way ANOVA is being used for data analysis.
