The Canadian Institute of Public Health Inspectors (CIPHI) is the only certifying body for environmental public health professionals in Canada, with a mandate for certification, education, professional competencies, and advocacy. Within the context of this mandate, CIPHI has recognized and identified a lack of awareness amongst the public on the importance of environmental public health and the roles of environmental public health professionals, who perform their work under a myriad of different job titles in Canada. This presentation will provide an overview of CIPHI's work to increase awareness of the field of environmental public health.
