Description
Diarrhea is the main cause of morbidity and mortality in children under the age of five in most parts of sub-Saharan countries. A study was conducted to determine the risk factors related to water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) on the prevalence of diarrhoea to children under five (0-59 months) admitted in three hospitals of Limpopo province. Data was collected from 106 caregivers to determine the risk factors and the relationship between the diarrhoea and WASH. A structured questionnaire and observation were used for data collection. A Multinomial Logistic Regression was used to determine the association between WASH and diarrhoea occurrence.
