The Sydney Royal Easter Show is Australia’s largest ticketed annual event, attracting over 900,000 attendees. Based within City of Parramatta at Sydney Olympic Park it is co-ordinated by the Royal Agricultural Society of NSW with country and city joining together for twelve days of agricultural competitions, entertainment, carnival fun, shopping and eating. Council’s Environmental Health team undertakes a proactive program liaising with stakeholders to ensure that attendees can eat safely, and that the surrounding environment is protected from pollution impacts. Council has developed a risk-based continuous improvement inspection program which has proven to be instrumental in achieving this outcome.
