Description

A warmer climate has significant consequences for our health and wellbeing. Councils, and their close proximity to communities, play a significant role in supporting responses to background warming and intensification of extreme events. They are critical sentinels, to other government tiers and stakeholders, of local and textural needs. The collaborative initiative by the Northern Tasmanian Alliance for Resilient Councils and UTAS Menzies Centre funded by the Tasmanian Government’s Healthy Focus Grants worked with councils and stakeholders to understand their climate roles in responding to impacts on the health and well-being of communities and develop local responses to increase resilience.
