Vaping has become a problem in society, especially with products containing nicotine a known addictive substance. Increasing rates of vaping, especially amongst school children, are causing health issues and addictions. EHOs from Metro South Public Health Unit executed warrants with the assistance of the Queensland Police Service and ATO, resulting in a large seizure of vaporisers and e-liquids. This resulted in a successful prosecution, the company ordered to pay a large financial penalty with a conviction recorded and the magistrate indicating that children had purchased vapes and denounced the conduct for exposing young people to health risks that are avoidable.
