Sofie Sandberg was born in Sweden but emigrated to Australia in 1992. She graduated from Queensland University of Technology with a B. Applied Science, Environmental Health in 1998 and has been working at the Metro South Public Health Unit, Queensland Health since then. She is now one of the Team Leaders in the Environmental Health team. Sofie was part of the then Institute of Environmental Health planning committee for the 10th International IFEH World Congress in Brisbane 1998. She also partook in a joint presentation on a Salmonella typhimurium outbreak with officers from Redland City Council, Safe Food Production Queensland and OzFoodnet at the same event.
