Christina Pollard has worked over 30 years as a government policy adviser and practitioner. In her roles as a dietitian, public health nutritionist, and academic she developed, implemented and evaluated numerous public health nutrition interventions for national, state and local level. Her research informs government policy and interventions with a focus on policy measures that protect the public health of those who are the most vulnerable in society. Her strong commitment to policy is demonstrated through her life membership of the Public Health Association of Australia in 2022, as a Director of Foodbank WA, and Nutrition Committee member of the Australian Academic of Science. Currently she is Director of the Public Health Advocacy Institute and Mentally Healthy WA.
