Narrowly avoiding a career in Economics, Matt made the right switch to environmental health which runs in the Sargeson family. After graduating Edith Cowan University on the Dean’s List, Matt received the WA EHA Harold Salter award for Professional Aptitude. Now with over 10 years experience in the field, Matt leads the health team in the beautiful Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale. His passion lies in science that underpins environmental health and the application of this knowledge across urban and rural communities. Matt was able to present on the challenges of unsewered environments at the 74th WA State EHA Conference 2021 and looks forward to the opportunity of further raising the industry profile at the IFEH World Congress 2024.
