Karen Purcell is a Programs and Policy Officer with the NSW Food Authority. She manages the day-to-day operation of the Authority’s Registered Training Organisation approval program as part of the Food Safety Supervisor initiative, which improves the skills and knowledge of food handlers through mandated training.
Karen has a background as an Executive chef, vocational trainer and assessor, and hospitality business owner. Prior to her current role, Karen was a food safety and regulatory specialist and auditor in Australia and New Zealand.
