Originally from Canberra, Dieter worked as an EHO for the ACT Health Protection Service for 11 years in operations, policy and management before moving to Queensland in 2003. Dieter held local government environmental health management positions at Redland Shire Council and Ipswich City Council before joining the Gold Coast Public Health Unit, Queensland Health, in late 2007. Dieter is one of two Environmental Health Team Leaders at the Unit and he and his team are responsible for undertaking proactive compliance activities under 7 public health laws on the Gold Coast dealing with a broad range of matters relating to food safety and standards, water quality, fluoridation, medicines, poisons, smoking products, radiation safety, communicable disease control and incident management.
