Description
This presentation takes us on the Australian Food Safety journey by exploring the current risk assessment challenges. The first part of presentation focuses on understanding and managing hazards associated with Moreton Bay chestnut, an example of traditional food, exclusively consumed by Indigenous Australians. The second part of presentation illustrates the multicultural influence on Australian diet by exploring the hazards associate with a non-traditional food, with example of red seaweed. The final part of presentation targets the safety of Australian future food by exploring the risk assessment of a novel food, with example of cultured quail meat.
