Australia is the only developed country with endemic trachoma and almost all cases are in Aboriginal communities. This presentation will outline the #endingtrachoma project which aims to reduce risk factors for trachoma and other environmental health diseases within the home environment by upskilling Aboriginal environmental health practitioners working in remote areas. The presentation will showcase the workforce, the healthy homes App, our key message, project innovations and how we work alongside AEHWs to provide emergency plumbing fixes, hygiene kits and yarns to enable tenants to wash their face, hands and clothes.
